Jetwing Yala

Our stay at Jetwing Yala at the entrance of Yala National Park

Emerging from the jungle at the entrance of one of the most beautiful national parks in Sri Lanka you will find a neat structure offering all the comforts while respecting the surrounding nature and wildlife. Jetwing Yala redefines eco-luxury offering a five-star experience thought and created in coexistence with nature.

Facing the crashing waves of the Indian Ocean, the 80 rooms of the hotel are neatly built in a discrete concrete structure, which thanks to its minimalism in shapes and colours blends within the surroundings. The rooms, spacious and comfortable, are built keeping conservation and waste minimization in mind. In the shower you have the option to use a normal heated shower or one with only a cold jet, to use less electricity. Water is only offered in glass bottles and the containers filled with liquid soap and shampoos are reused and not thrown away at every new guest arrival.

A 75 meters long swimming pool separates the rooms from the ocean, offering the best place to refresh during the hot Sri Lankan afternoons or to have a sunset drink.

When you are not out on a safari adventure, the spa at Jetwing Yala is a must visit, to relax and enjoy one of the incredible body or face treatments.

Jetwing Yala is the perfect hideout to explore Yala National Park, home to a variety of wild animals, birds, and local flora. During our stay we adventured within the park at sunrise, to admire the sunrise over the thick jungle and to spot wild animals. We were not disappointed!

Discovering wildlife in a sustainable way

During our four hours drive aboard of a semi-open safari jeep we were able to spot several buffalos, deers, a family of elephants and even a very rare leopard. Elephants are without a doubt our most favourite animals and seeing them in the wild is an incredible experience. The family of four that we were able to see at Yala was walking towards a watering hole. The mum, the dad, a young male an a tiny little baby who was so excited to play around and spray water, gifting us with the most entertaining show!

Seeing animals in the wild is one the most rewarding experiences you will ever have in your life. A way to connect with nature, learn about wildlife and enjoy the most beautiful and untouched parts of this planet without interfering with its natural spaces and rhythms. Jetwing Yala shares our commitment to respect nature. Since 2014, Jetwing Yala has hosted a 300 kWp grid-tied photovoltaic system, which is the largest solar installation in a Sri Lankan hotel. All hot water at Jetwing Yala is generated through 100% renewable ways and to move around the hotel there are only electrical buggies. A real eco-luxury paradise.

Jetwing Yala is the perfect sustainable safari hideout.
