Budget-Friendly Wine Tasting In Casablanca

Budget friendly wine tasting in Casablanca

One of the best day trip from Valparaiso is a visit to Casablanca and wine tasting in one of the many farms of this area. Many agencies will propose you day tours but we found a way to do it on our own. Find below all the steps for budget friendly wine tasting in Casablanca.

The wine farms

Casablanca is home to incredible number, with local production and ectar of vines covering the rolling hills. When deciding which one to visit we looked for a farm which offered both guided wine tours or only wine tasting options. Our final choice was La Indomita, a beautiful farm that produced the main varieties of the region ( sauvignon, xxx, xxx) with a restaurant and tasting house perched on top of a hill.

How to get there

For the most budget friendly way to reach La Indomita follow these steps. From Valparaiso main bus station take a bus to Casablanca. We took Casablanca Bus but most of the other companies will also drive there (1,000 Chilean pesos per person one way).

The buses leave regularly so you can just go to the station and catch the first one.

Once you arrive at Casablanca main square look around for a taxi (there’s taxis circling the square very often) and just ask them to take you to La Indomita (the trip is 6000 chilean pesos one way). Make sure to take the number of the taxi driver so you can call him when you want to get back to the square. The buses back to Valparaiso run until 20.30 roughly.

The tasting

At La Indomita you can choose how many wines to taste up to three per person, for a very reasonable price. We spent 5500 chilean pesos for five glasses of wine. There is no need for booking and they are open everyday including Sundays, closing at 17.00.

This little day trip to Casablanca is definitely recommend you want to enjoy a relaxing afternoon in nature and have a first taste of Chilean wine culture.

Ciao!
